Salima Police Arrest 28-Year-Old for Tearing Banknotes

Police in Salima District have arrested a 28-year-old woman, Chimwemwe Dickson, for allegedly destroying K2,000 and K5,000 banknotes by tearing them.
Salima Police spokesperson Sub-Inspector Rabecca Ndiwate said the incident occurred at around 1:00 pm yesterday when Dickson went to her girlfriend’s house and found her friend with another man.
Ndiwate said the situation angered the suspect, prompting her to destroy household items, including cash found in her friend’s wallet.
According to police, Dickson is expected to appear in court for violating the Reserve Bank of Malawi Act.
