42-Year-Old Nabbed Over 25 Vehicle Break-Ins in Mzuzu

Police in Mzuzu have arrested 42-year-old Gift Mhango, the prime suspect in a series of motor vehicle break-ins at Shoprite and Sana Shopping Mall.
Mzuzu Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Angella Harawa, confirmed the arrest.
Harawa said Mhango was apprehended after being spotted loitering around Shoprite premises while carrying a breaking implement.
According to Harawa, the suspect has confessed to breaking into more than 20 vehicles at Shoprite and about five others at Sanaa Shopping Mall, which is located opposite Mzuzu Livingstonia CCAP Church.
Police have since recovered K500,000 in cash and seized assorted household items believed to have been purchased using the stolen money.
