Malawani socialite Alfred Manjawira has sparked debate on social media after sharing his views on the life choices of young Malawian musician Med C.
In a post circulating online, Manjawira suggested that the artist may have made rushed decisions at a young age, arguing that he needed more personal growth before taking on family responsibilities.
“Whatever happened, I still feel bro made unhealthy decisions. He needed help and growth more than his pants walked him to marriage,” wrote Manjawira.
He further said that when Med C first rose to prominence and was seen around established artists such as Patience Namadingo, he expected a different path for the young musician.
“I expected elegance, good perfume and fancy suits. I expected a happy wife and baby in his later life. Perhaps I expected a lot, koma zandikhudza,” he added.
Med C rose to fame at a young age through his music and later attracted public attention after choosing to marry his girlfriend following reports that she had become pregnant. Many people praised the artist for taking responsibility and standing by his partner despite the pressures that often come with fame.
Manjawira’s comments have since generated mixed reactions online.
While some social media users agreed with his observations, arguing that young people should focus on personal development before marriage and parenthood, others defended Med C, saying he deserves credit for accepting responsibility rather than abandoning his partner and child.
The discussion continues to trend on social media, with many weighing in on the challenges faced by young celebrities balancing fame, relationships and family life.
