25-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle in Dowa

A 25-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle at Mtengowanthenga Trading Centre along the M1 Road in Mponela, Dowa District.
The deceased has been identified as Bright Mandindi.
Mponela Police spokesperson Macpatson Msadala confirmed the incident, saying the vehicle, registration number BZ 9919, was being driven by Ezala Mwale and was travelling from Mponela towards Lilongwe when it hit Mandindi as he was attempting to cross the road.
Mandindi was rushed to Mtengowanthenga Mission Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Msadala said the driver and two passengers in the vehicle were not injured during the accident.
The deceased hailed from Navume Village under Traditional Authority Manondo in Dowa District.
