Four Arrested in Lilongwe Over Stolen Toyota Ractis

Police in Lilongwe have arrested four suspects in connection with the theft of a Toyota Ractis, registration number BZ 1040.

The vehicle was stolen several weeks ago after the suspects allegedly posed as passengers. They reportedly asked the driver to stop shortly after Lilongwe Bridge along the bypass road before assaulting him and pushing him out of the car.

The suspects then drove away with the vehicle.

Police later traced the car to Area 36 where it had been kept at the house of one of the suspects.

Officers received a tip-off that the suspect was attempting to sell the vehicle for spare parts.

He was arrested and later allegedly revealed the identities of the other suspects, leading to their arrest.

Investigations are ongoing.
