Court Expected to Rule on Kalumo Bail Today

A Lilongwe court is today expected to deliver its verdict on the bail application of retired Immigration chief, Brigadier General Charles Kalumo, who was arrested last Sunday.
Kalumo’s lawyer, Chrispine Ndalama, asked the court to grant bail on the grounds that it is his constitutional right, citing his ill health and arguing that the charges against him are minor.
The court had initially scheduled the ruling for 3:00 PM yesterday.
A decision in the matter is now expected later today.
