The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has assured the public that efforts are underway to restore normal fuel supply across the country.
In a statement released today, MERA acknowledged that motorists have recently faced fuel shortages, attributing the situation to logistical challenges that delayed fuel deliveries into Malawi.
The authority has since urged citizens to avoid panic buying, warning that rushing to stockpile fuel could worsen the situation.
MERA also dismissed false rumours circulating on social media claiming that fuel has completely run out in the country, emphasizing that supplies are being managed and replenished.
