Teen Dies After Accomplice Accidentally Strikes Him During Attack in Monkey Bay, Police Hunt for Suspect

Information reaching this publication indicates that police in monkey bay are searching for a suspect in connection with the death of 19-year-old Thokozani Alfred.
Monkey bay police spokesperson Kondwani James said the incident occurred on the night of monday, march 23, at Chilembwe village under traditional authority Namkumba in the area.
According to James, the suspect and the deceased allegedly went to steal maize from a garden belonging to Isaac Kachambo. He explained that the two reportedly attacked the garden owner while he was in the field.
However, during the altercation, one of the suspects attempted to strike the owner with a weapon but missed, accidentally hitting his accomplice on the head. The victim sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
