Missing LAMAU Student Found Dead in Lilongwe After Two Weeks

A 22-year-old student from Lake Malawi Anglican University (LAMAU), Lizzie Nyson, who had been missing for nearly two weeks, has been found dead in Lilongwe.

According to a statement released by the university, Nyson, a third-year Public Health student, was last seen on March 22, 2026, after relocating from Area 49 to Area 47, Sector 1 on March 18.

Her body was discovered in a decomposed state on the morning of April 3, 2026, in a bush behind ABC Blue Gym in Area 47, Sector 1.

The university has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic development, extending condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and the entire student community.

Burial arrangements are already underway, with her remains scheduled to be laid to rest at Area 18 Cemetery on the same day.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.
