Woman Found Dead in Liwonde Guest House After Mysterious Meeting

Police in Liwonde, Machinga, have confirmed the death of a 26-year-old woman, Charity Floriano, who was found dead at a guest house in the district.

Liwonde Police officer in-chargie, Alex Simenti, said Floriano went missing on Friday after receiving a suspicious call from a woman who claimed she was selling salon equipment.

Simenti explained that the deceased arranged to meet the unknown woman at a guest house. However, when she could not be reached and her mobile phone was unavailable, her family reported the matter to Liwonde Police.

Following the report, police launched a search for Floriano, whose body was discovered yesterday in the bathroom of the guest house.

Police say investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Floriano hailed from Mwamulima Village, Traditional Authority Chiwalo in Machinga District.
