Opposition Leader Simplex Chithyola Banda Arrested in Lilongwe

Leader of Opposition Simplex Chithyola Banda has been arrested by Fiscal Police in Lilongwe.
His lawyer, George Kadzipatike, has confirmed the development but says the reasons behind the arrest have not yet been disclosed.
“He has handed himself over to Area 6 Fiscal Police this morning following a warrant issued by the Mkukula Magistrate Court,” said Kadzipatike.
Authorities are yet to provide further details on the matter.
