Unidentified Man Killed in Mzimba–Jenda Road Accident

An unidentified man has died after being involved in a road accident at Musegede area along the Mzimba–Jenda stretch of the M1 Road.

Jenda Police spokesperson, Gladwell Simwaka, confirmed that the accident occurred on Saturday night. The vehicle, a two-tonne Canter, was travelling from Mzuzu to Lilongwe at the time of the incident.

According to Simwaka, the victim was struck by the vehicle, which was being driven by 47-year-old Charles Chagadula.

Police have since arrested the driver on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving.

Meanwhile, authorities are appealing to members of the public to assist in identifying the deceased. The body is currently being kept at Jenda Rural Hospital.
