Theresa Phondo Praises Standard Bank for Supporting Arts as Partnership Ends

Malawian gospel singer Theresa Phondo has expressed gratitude to Standard Bank Malawi for supporting the growth of the creative industry in the country following the end of her three-year partnership with the institution.

Phondo said the collaboration played a key role in her career development, highlighting opportunities such as performing at the Zomba City Festival last year.

In a statement shared online, she said: “As I wrap up an incredible three-year partnership with Standard Bank Malawi, I’m filled with gratitude. Working with Standard Bank has been one of the highlights of my career so far. They believed in me, and that belief pushed me to show up bigger and better every time.”

She added that she is proud of the impact made during the partnership and is excited about the next phase of her career.

The artist, who recently released a new song titled No Gwede, also encouraged more organizations to invest in local talent.

Standard Bank Malawi continues to support the arts through initiatives such as its “Joy of the Arts” programme, aimed at promoting creativity and empowering artists across the country.
