Police at Nathenje in Lilongwe are investigating the murder of Boniface Nelson, 22, whose body was found dumped in his mother’s maize garden at Mbalame Village, Traditional Authority Mazengera.

According to Lilongwe Police Public Relations Officer Inspector Hastings Chigalu, Nelson, a Form 4 student at Chigodi Community Day Secondary School, went missing on April 25 after being sent from a soya field to collect food and utensils.

His body was discovered on April 27 with signs of assault and strangulation.

A postmortem found that he died from head injuries caused by a blunt object.

Police say investigations are continuing to trace those responsible.
