Suspected Thieves Break Into Dowa District Hospital, Steal Laptop

Suspected thieves reportedly broke into Dowa District Hospital on Tuesday night and stole a Lenovo laptop belonging to the institution.

According to sources who opted for anonymity, the suspects allegedly gained access to the hospital’s accounts office through the ceiling before carrying out the theft.

The sources further disclosed that the intruders also attempted to break into a safe where money is sometimes kept, but were unsuccessful.

Public Relations Officer for Dowa District Hospital, Davie Nuka, declined to comment on the matter, saying the case had already been reported to police.

Meanwhile, Dowa Police Spokesperson Alice Sitima confirmed the incident and said investigations are currently underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the break-in and identify the suspects involved.
