**Three Men And Woman Arrested In Karonga Over Burglary, Theft And Fraud Cases**

Police in Karonga have arrested three men and one woman in connection with offences of burglary and theft, receiving stolen property, and fraud other than false pretence.
According to Karonga Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Constable Margret Msiska Ngulube, the suspects were arrested on May 27, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation conducted within Karonga Township.
The suspects have been identified as Pilirani Mtambo, 24, of Chitipa District, and Oscar Mwanthede, 35, of Karonga District, both charged with burglary and theft.
Duncan Mwamatanda, 30, of Karonga District, has been charged with receiving stolen property, while Regina Kifungwe, 32, is wanted by Lingadzi Police in Lilongwe on fraud-related charges.
Police also recovered two plasma television screens during the operation.
The three male suspects are expected to appear in court soon, while Kifungwe is set to be transferred to Lingadzi Police Station in Lilongwe to face her pending charges.
