78 Inmates Sit for 2025 PSLCE in Malawi Prisons

The Malawi Prison Service has disclosed that a total of 78 inmates are sitting for this year’s Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations (PSLCE) in prison facilities across the country.
The candidates are writing their examinations at Zomba Prison, Blantyre Prison (Chichiri), Bvumbwe Young Offenders Rehabilitation Centre, Lilongwe Prison (Maula), Kachere Female Prison, Mzuzu Prison and Mzimba Prison.
Prison Service spokesperson Steve Meke said that of the 78 candidates, 68 are male while 10 are female.
Last year, a total of 58 inmates sat for the PSLCE examinations.
Nationally, 254,486 Standard 8 learners have registered for this year’s PSLCE examinations.
