Roson Antonio, 59, a Mozambican citizen, and Mabvuto Pilezi, 20, a Malawian, are in police custody in Ntcheu District for allegedly possessing 200 litres of petrol without proper documentation and driving without a valid licence.

Ntcheu Police spokesperson Jacob Khembo said the two were arrested yesterday afternoon after officers at Biliwiri Roadblock along the Tsangano–Neno Road intercepted them while they were transporting ten drums containing 200 litres of petrol.

Khembo said when the officers asked for identification documents and a valid driver’s licence, the suspects failed to produce them. The petrol was subsequently confiscated and the two were arrested.

Antonio hails from Sankha Village in Traditional Authority Chafera, Tsangano District, Mozambique, while Pilezi comes from Chimwano Village in Traditional Authority Mpando, Ntcheu District.
