Motorcycle Passenger Killed in Chikwawa Road Crash

A 33-year-old man, Emmanuel Zaketa, has died in a road accident that occurred yesterday at Domasi Market along the Blantyre–Chikwawa M1 Road.

Chikwawa Police Deputy Spokesperson Sergeant Chancy Mfune Zare said a Toyota Prado station wagon, which was travelling from Dyeratu towards Thabwa, collided with a motorcycle that was attempting to overtake another vehicle.

The deceased was a passenger on the motorcycle, which was being ridden by a man who fled the scene after the crash.

As a result of the collision, Zaketa sustained severe head injuries and died shortly after being taken to Chikwawa District Hospital.
