PASTOR CHRIS OF CHRIST EMBASSY ACCUSED OF ADULTERY WIFE FILES FOR DIVORCE

>

Christian Oyakhilome popularly known as “Pastor Chris” of Christ Embassy Church has been accused of adultery and unreasonable behaviour by his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome who has since filed for divorce through her lawyers, Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors. According to reports, the divorce case, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK.Reports also state that all efforts being made to reconcile the couple have failed and the dissolution of the couple’s union is said to be in the final phases.
Oyakhilome is a famous Nigerian minister who is the founding president of Believers’ LoveWorld Incorporated also known as “Christ Embassy”, a Bible-based Christian ministry headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria and his wife is the vice president. The former lovers have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn.
His ministry runs several arms including the Healing School, Rhapsody of Realities (a daily devotional with global reach), and an N.G.O called the Innercity Missions as well as three Christian television channels: LoveWorld TV, LoveWorld SAT and LoveWorld Plus. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s television programs feature his faith healings, miracles and large meetings which his ministry organizes around the world, with gatherings over 2.5 million people in a single night’s event. He is one of the most influential preachers in Africa and as a result has been the target of the Nigerian government’s scrutiny for his meetings and miracles.

Meanwhile, members of the church were seen in groups, discussing the issue which had gone viral on social media. A lady, who was addressed as Bekky, said: “I guess it’s still a rumour and we have been told to disregard it. I pray they sort it out and save the church the embarrassment. Pastor Chris is a holy man and has a peaceful home. It’s only those who are jealous of his progress that are cooking up the divorce story.”

Charisma Magazine editor J. Lee Grady published an article 27 June 2012 titled “False Prophets, Foreign Charlatans, and Global Deception” in which he criticized Oyakhilome. The article reports that Oyakhilome lives a lavish lifestyle, teaches a “new creation” doctrine which states that all sins committed after becoming a Christian only affect the body and not the soul, and is preaching a prosperity gospel by telling people that God wants everyone to be rich.
