Kamuzu College of Nursing (KCN) Masters in Midwifery students on Friday donated a bicycle ambulance to Namaru village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Machinjiri.

One student Violet Liphava speaking on behalf of her fellow students said the student made the donation to address the challenge of transportation to the hospital that most pregnant women were facing.

The challenges were identified following a community mobilisation process the students conducted on maternal health, revealed Liphava.

T/A Machinjiri applauded the development after receiving the donation saying he was pleased with the development as it will assist pregnant women in the village at delivery time. He said the poor roads in the area which are inaccessible by car make the donation very welcome.
