PIKSY ALBUM LAUNCH ATTRACTS LOW PATRONAGE

The album launch for Piksy failed to create excitement among fans of the local artist as only a few people were at Alexanderz Pub in Lilongwe.

It was a Sunday afternoon littered with live shows around the city, leaving revellers with a tough choice ahead of a day of entertainment.

Piksy’s second solo album was billed to be one of the best nights for the local urban artist who continues to prove his worth.

However, it seems it was never meant to be as the launch flopped to the extent that some patrons thought it had been cancelled.

“Is the show going to take place at all? We have been here since 2 pm and nothing is going,” a woman was heard talking to a friend.

Outside the compound, scores of revellers were seen seated enjoying drinks at the Lilongwe Shopping Mall and the Shoprite complex.

The mood was chilly and few people that assembled managed to endure the cold evening as the songs booming from the speakers were not enough motivation to set the wheels of fun into motion. They were not moved, with many of them engrossed in conversations or phones.

As the supporting artists took turns to entertain the few that turned up, so did the number grow smaller.

The show became lively when Lucius Banda came on stage around 8:30pm as the audience grew to about 150. Soldier gave his all as he entertained the fans for over an hour.

As things became livelier, Zambia’s Chimzy Kelly of mwanakazindikumbuyo and Dorica fame ,jumped on stage and gave them a Zed dosage.

By the time Piksy got on stage, things had mainly turned for the better and as usual he gave the fans
