GWALADI’s DEFILEMENT CASE FAILS TO RESUME

Phalombe Magistrate Court on Tuesday failed to resume hearing a defilement case of a well-known street musician Joe Gwaladi due busy scheduled of the presiding Judge.

Gwaladi is being accused of raping a 14 year-old girl and was arrested in May last year, but he was granted bail.

When he appeared in Court in June last, Gwaladi denied defilement charges leveled against him and the case was adjourned to January 19, 2016.

But yesterday, the case failed to resume at Phalombe First Grade Magistrate Court despite the presence of the both side involved in the case.

When pressed for comment, Phalombe Police Spokesperson Augustus Nkhwazi said the case has failed to resume due to busy scheduled of the first grade magistrate Damson Banda.

Nkhwazi said the case may return to the court on Friday.
