PP SQUABBLES TAKES NEW TWIST: MUSSA BLOCKED FROM CONDUCTING A RALLY IN MZUZU

Leadership wrangles in opposition People’s Party (PP) on Sunday showed its ugly face in the Northern region as supports clashed forcing the Interim leader Uladi Mussa to postpone the meeting at the eleventh hour.

The supporters believed to be that of the former Vice President Khumbo Kachali led by former regional governor Rev Christopher Mzomera Ngwira stormed the venue of the meeting where Mussa was scheduled to address the gathering.

Kachali’s supporters started attacking Mussa’s supporters accusing him of not informing them of the meeting.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Mussa accused Kachali of sponsoring the thugs to disrupt his meeting, saying he is not happy with his appointment.

But reacting Mussa’s claims, Kachali denied of being behind the fracas, saying he is not interested in the leadership of the party.

Kachali hinted that he want the Party to regroup and move forward.

This is the second time for PP’s meeting in the Northern Region to end in a chaotic way.

The first meeting which also ended in a chaotic way was the one organized by PP spokesperson Ken Msonda late last year which aimed at updating PP supporters on the day the Party founder Dr. Joyce Banda will return to Malawi.

Msonda accused Mzomera of organizing the thugs to disrupt the meeting and the Party suspended him but was reinstated by Banda.
