Update on the MK1.5 million Kawale robbery: MDF soldier arrested

Police in Lilongwe have arrested Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldier from Kamuzu Barracks for allegedly having a hand in the recent robbery that happened in Kawale 2 in the capital Lilongwe.

The suspect has been identified as Blessing Banda, private soldier no. 16405.

Banda’s arrest comes barely hours after the arrest of three people suspected to have also taken part in the robbery.

The police also recovered a vehicle registration number KK 1992 suspected to have been used in the robbery.

Meanwhile the police are still investigating the matter.
