4 primary school pupils die in Machinga due to lack of Malaria drugs in the district

As Malawi President has just blown 350 Million Kwacha for a foreign trip that earned her a Honaris Causa “Doctorate” and also benefited a donation of drug donation only worthy 170 Million Kwacha, Malawi Hospitals continues to be death waiting rooms as there are no drugs to support the sick.

A shocking story is that for the past 5 days, 4 primary school students have died in Machinga district due to malaria and that there are no Malaria drugs in dispensaries and were sent back without treatment.

Two girls (a standard 6 and a standard 7) learners at Nainunje Primary school in Kapoloma Village (where Former President Bakili Muluzi comes from) have died one on Monday and the other one was buried on Tuesday this week.

A standard 2 learner at Mpiri primary school died last Saturday due to malaria again and that there was no LA, malaria drug at the hospital, another fate fell on a learner from Nselema who died of the same cause.

This is coming barely few days after hearing that patients in Northern part of Malawi who are suffering from diabetis mellitus are on danger as the drugs for such patients have run out, yet they are supposed to take the medication on daily basis
