Its has been revealed that the sign language interpreter at Nelson Mandela’s memorial was a fraud and a fake who was only moving his arms to look busy. Members of the deaf community in South Africa including Wilma Newhoudt-Druchen, the first deaf woman in Parliament,were outraged by the incident. The man in question has been at the centre of many such allegations during other African National Congress (ANC) events. The fake sign language interpreter was exposed during U.S president Obama’s speech.
The Nelson Mandela Memorial was also marked by booing crowds at the FNB Stadium in Soweto who expressed their displeasure with South African President Jacob Zuma. President Jacob Zuma was booed several times causing him much humiliation and embarrassment.
