A thirteen year old family has shocked his family and the community around after taking his own life in the Southern region district of Mwanza.
According to media reports, the 13 year old Chikumbutso Kutsala, took his own life by hanging in the morning of Monday. At this time, it has been reported, he was home and his parents had gone out farming.
The parents came back only to be welcomed by the body of their son hanging from the roof of the house.
It has further been reported that the boy was epileptic.
Cases of suicide had been on an increase in Malawi but have appeared to have gathering a pace once again.
The police have, meanwhile, confirmed of the incident and have said that the boy died due to strangulation.
