MDF DEFEND TANZANIAN SOLDIERS’ VISIT TO MALAWI

Malawi Defence Force (MDF) has backed the presence of 17 soldiers from Tanzania, saying their presence is not a threat to the country’s security.

The Tanzanian Soldiers have been in the country since Monday, visiting several places; one of it being Nkula Falls.

This development raised suspicion among Malawians who linked it to the Lake border issue between Malawi and Tanzania.

In his speech MDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kakhuta Banda said the visit by Tanzanian Military was part of the study mission.

“This is actually is an educational visit and it happens between militaries,” he said.

Banda further said there was nothing related to the Lake Malawi border dispute because soldiers from different countries visit the country.
