It never rains but pours on Former Director General of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), Bright Malopa.
New Building Society (NBS) bank has seized a sprawling Chapima Castle in Blantyre belonging to Malopa for failure to service his debt with the bank.
The development has been established through the advert of the malt-million building in one of the local daily papers by the bank seeking for a prospective buyer.
According to NBS, the property title number Likabula 145 Chapima Heights comprises of an upper and ground floors. The ground floor has two bedrooms, two lounge, two kitchens, two dining rooms and shower. There is also a staircase in one of the lounge rooms and there is a Khonde outside.
The upper floor comprises of four bedrooms each with an observation point, one and bath, a lounge, dressing room, study room, two Bath and Jacuzzi. There is also linen, staircase and balcony.
Malopa served as MBC Director General during the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regime and was later sacked by the People’s Party regime and replaced by Benson Tembo.
