WARD COUNCILLORS TURN DOWN THE POST OF MAYOR IN MZUZU

Barely six days before Mzuzu City hold elections for the Mayor, report reaching Face of Malawi indicate that no Ward Councillor has openly expressed interest for the post.

Mzuzu City Council Chairman Thomas Chirwa confirmed of the development with one of the local media house in the country (ZBS).

In his speech, Chirwa said he just read on the newspapers and radios that other Councillors are interested in the post.

There are 15 councilors in Mzuzu that will take part in the election of the Mayor of the City scheduled for July 9 this month.
