NJOBVUYALEMA APPOINTED AS VICE CHAIR OF SADC PARLIAMENT

Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) lawmaker, Joseph Njobvuyalema has been elected as vice chairperson for Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) parliamentary forum in the elections which took place in Zimbabwe.

Njobvuyalema, who is also MCP’s spokeperson on Finance in Parliament confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press.

Annie Makinda from Tanzania was elected Chairman while Galley Mkombo from Zambia is the new treasurer.

The elections take place every two years.

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in August this year handed over the SADC chairmanship to Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe during the groupings summit held in Victoria Falls.
