Mwanza District Hospital nurses on strike

Nurses at Mwanza District Hospital on Tuesday went on strike demanding the immediate transfer of District Health Officer (DHO) Ralph Piringu and District Nursing Officer (DNO).

The nurses are accusing the two of ill-treating them and other junior workers at the hospital.

Mwanza District Hospital Spokesperson Dikilani Chadza confirmed of the strike in an interview with the press on Tuesday.

According to information at hand, the two forces nurses at the hospital to overwork and their locum has been terminated.

Patients at the hospital have also complained of ill-treatment especially those from Malawi, saying they are forced to pay for any service rendered to them.
