A traditional healer has been arrested by police in Dowa for allegedly administering herbal drugs to a woman with Acquire Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) who died in the process.
The suspect has been identified as Doctor Chikumbutso George from Dowa district.
Mponela police spokesperson Mr Kondwani Kandiado said after the woman had consumed the unknown local drugs, her condition got worse.
She was then rushed to the hospital but she was pronounced dead upon arriving at Madisi Mission Hospital.
The suspect is currently in police custody and he is expected to appear in court to answer charges.
