Electricity crisis: Parliament suspended to Thursday due to blackout

Business in the National Assembly in the capital Lilongwe has been suspended due to darkness that has engulfed the house following the power cuts, faceofmalawi can reveal.

On Tuesday, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Esther Mcheka Chilenje apologized to the members of Parliament following the power cuts that hit the house.

And today, deliberations in the August House were scheduled to start at 2:00pm and our reporter arrived there at around 1:55pm only to be welcomed by darkness.

According to the reporter, he stayed there for closer without power.

Meanwhile the Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya has suspended the house to tomorrow Thursday.
