Archbishop Tarsizio Ziyaye of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe has instructed all Catholic Priests in the diocese to lead congregants in the peaceful demonstrations organized by the Public Affairs committee (PAC) on December 13 over delay by government to table the electoral reforms bill in Parliament.

This has been disclosed in a letter addressed to all priests seen by faceofmalawi reporter.

In the letter, Ziyaye has urged all priests to take the leading role in the December 13 demonstrations and explain to the Catholic congregants the importance of the said bills.

Ziyaye has also called off the meeting involving the priests scheduled for next week to give room to the priests to fully prepare for the demonstrations.
