Journalist Ephraim Nyirenda laid to rest, Bishop Mtumbuka shocked

Bishop Martin Mtumbuka of the Karonga Diocese has expressed shock over the untimely death of Tuntufye FM Head of Programs Ephraim Nyirenda.

Nyirenda, 34, died on Wednesday after sustaining severe head injuries in a road accident at Ibanda trading center in Chitipa.

The deceased was with Mac Donald Mkwaila from Action Aid, the driver of pick-up who also died on the spot.

Bishop Mtumbuka said Nyirenda’s death is a big blow to the radio station and the media in Malawi.

The body of Nyirenda, who until his death was also an executive member of Nyika Media Club, was laid to rest at his home village Zebedia in the area of Inkosi Mabilabo in Mzimba on Thursday.
