Man arrested for attempting chop-off friend’s manhood

Lingadzi police are keeping in custody a man who allegedly attempted to cut off the manhood of a 19-year-old man from Mtsiliza Township in Lilongwe.

The accused, who happens to be the victim’s neighbour, is Lazalo Matiyasi aged 67 from Kalingana Village T/A Changata in Thyolo district.

The victim claims he met Matiyasi around 7 pm as he was coming from Mtandire and the suspect asked to accompany him home.

To the victim’s surprise, Matiyasi was dragged to the maize field where he faced his tragic fate.

The 19-year-old further revealed that Matiyasi threatened to kill him and his entire family if he revealed the ordeal.

“He dragged me into the maize field as we were heading home, pulled down my pants then started cutting my manhood,” the victim said.

It is not known as to why the suspect conducted the barbaric act even though some speculate the aim was to use the manhood for rituals.

Spokesperson for Lingadzi police Gift Chitowe said the suspect has been charged with unlawful wounding.

The victim is currently under medical attention at home.
