1500 photos missing on voters roll

At a press briefing held yesterday, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah disclosed that about 1500 pictures of eligible voters are missing on the voters roll to be used on May 21 Tripartite Elections.

She said of 5002 polling centres across the country 398 have been affected. Assuring the public, Ansah said affected registered voters will still cast their votes.

The MEC chair also mentioned that 2154 vehicles, three aircrafts and six boats will be required to deliver and distribute voting material. From the total figure, 600 are trucks.

Recently, the commission received K300 million to hire vehicles for the elections.
