Man killed in road accident in Dedza

One person has died while four others have sustained minor injuries as the vehicle they were traveling in hit a truck that was parked along the M1 road at Linthipe 1 in Dedza.

The deceased has been identified as Cyrus Kampango, 26, of Kasinje Village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) N’ganya in Ntcheu district.

According to Dedza Police Deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sergeant Cassim Manda, Kampango was among the four passengers in a Daihatsu Saloon, registration number RU 6494, which was driven by Kalipo Mhango.

“Cyrus sustained head injuries and died on the spot while the driver and other three passengers escaped with minor injuries,” he said.

Meanwhile, all the victims have been taken to Dedza district hospital where they are receiving medical treatment.
