Vuwa’s blood on high demand over sale of Livimbo school

Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament has asked for the immediate resignation of Minister of Lands and Housing Simon Vuwa Kaunda over the sale of Livimbo Primary and Secondary School in the capital Lilongwe.

Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee chairperson Kezzie Msukwa said this in an interview on Monday after a failed meeting with officials from Lands.

Msukwa said that the committee has also discovered more schools in the country have been sold illegally.

He mentioned Chimutu, Chilambula, New Shire and Magwero in Lilongwe as some of the schools whose land has been encroached by some developers.

But Kaunda has turn down the call for his resignation, saying the calls are baseless.

Meanwhile the sale of Livimbo School by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government continues to attract public attention.
