MEC to parade three witnesses in Presidential polls case

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) will parade three witnesses in the ongoing presidential polls case starting Chief Election Officer (CEO) Sam Alfandika.

MEC was initially expected to parade 700 witnesses.

Lawyer for MEC, Kalekeni Kaphale confirmed of the development in an interview with the press on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Kaphale, MEC will parade Sam Alfandika, Hensley Munkhondya and Muhabi Chisi.

Kaphale said MCP and UTM have decided not to ask MEC monitors questions since they did not bring their own monitors.

Kaphale has since asked the court to throw out the petition by Chakwera and Chilima saying their evidence Lacks merit.

Meanwhile the case continues this morning with cross examination of Sam Alfandika.
