Kapeni, Chilobwe roads closed by Blantyre City Council

Blantyre City Council (BCC) has closed down Kapeni and Chilobwe roads in the city due to heavy rains experienced on Monday rendering the two roads impassable.

This has been disclosed in a press statement released on Tuesday signed by BCC Chief Excutive Officer Dr. Chanza made available to Faceofmalawi reporter.

“Blantyre City Council would like to inform members of the public especially motorists that sections of Kapeni Road and Chilobwe road have been closed due to the damage caused to bridges by heavy rains.

Kapeni Road has been closed between Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church and Kabila Tarven near Kudya Service Station while the road to Chilobwe has been closed malingamoyo also known as Pa Zion,” reads part of the statement.

Motorists have since been advised to use alternative roads.
