Wanderers cleared to play at Kamuzu Stadium

Kamuzu Stadium authorities have lifted the ban imposed on Mighty Wanderers from using the facility following the violence that occurred during and after their Super League match against Blue Eagles recently.

Stadium manager Charles
Mhango said the Nomads
have been cleared having
repaired damages caused
during the violence.

“They have replaced the five taps that were removed and they have also repaired the slabs and the dressing room
windows that were damaged.

“We have, therefore, cleared them to play at the stadium,”said Mhango.

Sulom banned the Nomads from playing at home for 10 games starting with Saturday’s game against Azam Tigers, which was played in Balaka.

However, the stadium’s move means the Nomads will still be able to play some of their away games against Blantyre-based teams such as Big Bullets, Blantyre United
and Evirom at Kamuzu
Stadium.

Sulom disciplinary committee found the Nomads guilty of causing the violence and were fined K950 000 and the
10-match ban.

They were fined K300 000 for failing to provide security as a home team, K250 000 for disrupting normal proceedings of the match and K150 000 for failing to control their supporters’ actions.

It was reported that the
mayhem spilled to other
surrounding places and over 20 vehicles were stoned.
