Mangochi in ‘religious’ chaos

Reports from Mangochi, heavily populated by muslims, indicates that there is chaos in the district after the Magistrates Court in the district adjourned a case in which some Muslim faithfuls are being accused of illegal seizure and burying of pork that belonged to a businessman in the area, Paul Zagwa.

However, the Muslim community in the area have felt offended with the proceedings such that they went and besieged the court premises intimidating witnesses and disturbing proceedings.

The development has so far forced the court to adjourn for this afternoon.

Two witnesses of the businessman had to withdraw from giving testimony to the court for fear of reprisals.
