Plain sex is on an increase in Mwanza district if the confession by the District Health Officer (DHO) of the district, Mr. Raphael Piringu, is anything to go by.
Information released by the DHO shows that the district is registering many cases of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) of which AIDS is but a part of them. The district now is said to officially register at least 150 cases of STIs a week which is a record.
The DHO further has told a local radio station that research has shown that the rate of infections has been increasing since the start of the railway construction works started in the district.
Mwanza has been known to be a hot spot for sex especially to truck drivers.
