Joyce Banda to open Radio Station, Ufulu FM


The plot is thickening, the media is under siege.

FaceofMalawi can exclusively reveal that President Joyce Banda in her search for a consolidation of the Presidency come 2014 and to expand her business interests, she is establishing a radio station.

Coming hot on the heels of former President Muluzi’s Joy FM and the Mutharika’s Galaxy FM, President Joyce Banda will have her radio named Ufulu. The radio will hit the airwaves next year January, which is next month.

Currently, the radio station has been calling for applications from its staff. It is not known when MACRA granted a licence to the radio station that is expected to be based in Blantyre.
