Mutharika to return on Friday, DPP online paper says will come with billions of dollars and four helicopters

After spending 20 days in the United States of America on what some described as a private visit, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President, Peter Mutharika, is set to return to Malawi on Friday, January 17, his personal assistant, Ben Phiri, has been quoted as saying.

Information indicates that Mutharika will return into the country on January 17 from the US, a country he frequents and holds its green card and a place where he has spent most of his adult life.

According to an online paper that is believed to be DPP, Malawi Voice, the DPP leader is said to be returning with billions of U$ for campaigning purposes in the May 20 tripartite elections. The paper has gone further to indicate that the DPP leader will as well come with four helicopters that are expected to be in the country in February.

Sometime in the past, the DPP leader had indicated that once the campaign starts, he is going to take it through all means possible.

“You ain’t seen nothing yet,” the DPP leader was quoted as saying. “We will take the campaign to every place through land, water and air.”

At the DPP convention, in his acceptance speech, the DPP leader as well talked of taking a helicopter once voted into power to open the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Thyolo and the Shire-Zambezi waterway.

With the news reports that sound too good to be true of him bringing in four helicopters, one can easily see the obsession of the DPP leader with helicopters.
