Hours just after declaring that he was leaving the Peoples’ Party (PP) and being linked to the archrival of the PP, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Vice President Khumbo Kachali is set to be arrested.
Exclusive information that FaceofMalawi has indicate that the arrest of Kachali is in the offing over the Cashgate scandal.
“The deal is that Kachali will be implicated in the Cashgate scandal, especially the buses and then will be arrested,” said a source.
Other information indicated that Kachali was initially set for an arrest today but a breakdown in communication saw police arrest Banda’s ‘errand-boy’ who was to implicate Kachali before he was initially released.
When Banda dumped Kachali and opted for Gwengwe it had been indicated that Kachali was initially willing to dump the PP but he had been served with a dossier that threatened him with an arrest over Cashgate if he dared move.
Kachali is suspected to be linked to the Cashgate scandal in the way he procured a fleet of trucks in the short space that he has been the Vice President of this country.
