FORMER ZAMBIAN PRESIDENT, RUPIAH BANDA, URGES JB TO CONCEDE DEFEAT

Date:

Former Zambian President Rupiah Banda who lost elections to the country’s incumbent Micheal Sata and set a trend that incumbent leaders could lose in Southern Africa has urged Malawi leader, Joyce Banda to concede defeat in the May polls.

According to information from Muvitv in Zambia, Banda has sent a message to JB asking her to concede defeat in the polls and let the country move on.

Malawi elections have been held at ransom by a couple of injunctions that are restraining the Malawi Electoral Commission from implementing decisions.

President Banda had earlier attempted to annul the elections and institute fresh elections after 90 days but the decision was challenged.

So far, earlier indications had indicated that Peter Mutharika of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) had carried the day in the results of the elections.
